Cardiff and Vale College joins
RW Learning’s Resilience Programme

Cardiff and Vale College, one of the largest colleges in the UK, has shown its support for RW Learning’s ‘Progressive Resilience Development Programme’ by sponsoring the series of online workshops.
The College is well known for delivering high quality education and training within the Capital Region of Wales. With more than 30,000 full-time and part-time learners across its courses, university qualifications and apprenticeship programmes, along with dedicated training provision for employers.
Martin Condy, Senior Manager for Employer Partnerships at Cardiff and Vale College, said: "We’ve been a skills partner to business for many years, but in recent times supporting organisations and individuals with their resilience has been of growing importance. We are proud to work with RW Learning and to sponsor this series of workshops which we hope will encourage a positive response to challenging times."
RW Learning’s Resilience Programme is designed and led by Ian Rothwell, leader in business resilience and Carwyn Jones, former First Minister of Wales.
Both will be sharing insights and practical tips that can be instantly used in order to improve an individual’s resilience. They will progress to introduce recent findings in the sciences relating to the brain and how it can thrive in challenges.
Carwyn Jones said: “I’m impressed with the agility and commitment shown by Cardiff and Vale to ensure that high-quality teaching and learning has continued both online and at campus this year. Despite the challenges that 2020 has presented, there have been record numbers of students progressing from the college to university. I am also delighted to be working with RW Learning on a project that could help and inspire so many in these testing times.”
The title of the four 45 minutes videos are,
1) Developing Resilience & Navigating Through Uncertainty
2) Bouncing Back
3) Harnessing Stress & ’Being Brainsmart’
4) ‘Fog & Frazzle’ - Keeping a Clear Head and Developing New Routines.
Each workshop is specifically designed to up-skill and tool individuals to look after their mental health by boosting their resilience.
Ian Rothwell, managing director of RW Learning said: “I would like to thank CAVC for supporting this valuable programme we are delivering to people across Wales, another great example of our strong relationship and partnership that we’ve had for some years now. This programme will provide a resilience boost to those who may be mentally exhausted during these difficult COVID times, as well as preparing people for the challenges ahead. We know there is a huge need for this and I’m delighted to team up once again with the College in order to reach out to people across Wales and give them a well needed boost”.
